Washington Butler was born in Puyallup Washington, was always attracted by the arts. She was a singer in choirs, entered performances in singing contests, and was a part of the community theatre and in high school. After moving from Los Angeles, she studied theatre at The University of Southern California and performed as Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for a year and an entire quarter. After college, she focused on finding an agent to represent her talents and then began auditioning for work in television as well as film. Butler appeared as a guest star on her own TV program CSI: Miami. The web-based series Luke 11-17, helmed by Don Stark, featured her as a character. Butler played a part on I Love Vampires and a recurring one on Luke 11:17. She was awarded the title in I Spit on Your Grave which was a remake of the 1978 film that had the same title. The film initially was an unpopular choice for her due to the it was awash in violence, nudity and female subtexts. But the compelling plot and the feminist aspect helped her decide to accept the lead role. The film produced by Steven R. Monroe was made available in the month of October. Butler started filming The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller starring Estella Warr, and William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain in November of 2011. Alongside New York City and Copenhagen, the film was scheduled to shoot on location in Copenhagen Denmark. She also became part of the crew for Treachery in which she featured Michael Biehn. The independent feature film started filming in Los Angeles in early 2012. Butler was as a character in The Demented, a 2013 horror movie with Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
