She was a singer in choirs, entered performances in singing contests, and was a part of the community theatre and in high school. After moving from Los Angeles, she studied theatre at The University of Southern California and performed as Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for a year and an entire quarter. After college, she focused on finding an agent to represent her talents and then began auditioning for work in television as well as film. Butler started filming The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller starring Estella Warr, and William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain in November of 2011.
